Ingredients

8 oz (225 g) spaghetti or fettuccine

1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or steak cut into small strips)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

5 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup beef broth

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Pasta:

    - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

      Sauté the Beef:

        - In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the ground beef (or steak strips) and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon if using ground beef. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

          Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

            - In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

              Add Tomatoes and Beef Broth:

                - Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes until they begin to soften. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.

                  Combine Everything:

                    - Return the cooked beef to the skillet, stirring to combine. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until reaching your desired consistency.

                      Toss in the Pasta:

                        - Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss everything together, ensuring the pasta is well coated with the garlic butter sauce. Let it heat through for 1-2 minutes.

                          Serve:

                            - Take the skillet off the heat and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta. Toss lightly to combine. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.
