Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon paprika

½ cup breadcrumbs

1 large egg

4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced thinly

2 cups beef broth

1 cup green beans (fresh or frozen)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Mix the Meat: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Form Patties: Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and form them into patties, about ¾ inch thick.

Brown the Patties: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a drizzle of oil. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are nicely browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Layer the Potatoes: In a large baking dish, layer the thinly sliced potatoes evenly on the bottom. Pour half of the beef broth over the potatoes to help them cook and add moisture.

Add the Patties: Place the browned hamburger patties on top of the potatoes in the baking dish.

Add Green Beans: Scatter the green beans (fresh or frozen) over the patties.

Pour Remaining Broth: Pour the remaining beef broth over the entire dish, ensuring everything is evenly covered.

Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes.

Add Cheese: After 45 minutes, remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top, and return to the oven. Bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
