Ingredients

2 cups rolled oats

1 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/2 cup almond butter (or any nut butter of choice)

1/2 cup honey or maple syrup

1/2 cup chopped dried apples

1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)

1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the unsweetened applesauce, almond butter, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until well combined and smooth.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, chopped dried apples, chopped nuts, ground cinnamon, and optional mini chocolate chips.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until everything is evenly coated. The mixture should be sticky but hold together well.

Spread in Pan: Transfer the granola mixture to the lined baking dish and press it down firmly with the back of a spatula or your hands to create an even layer.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.

Cool & Cut: Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, lift it out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into bars or squares.

Store: You can place the bars in an airtight container. They can be stored at room temperature for up to one week or refrigerated for up to two weeks.
