Ingredients

For the Dough:

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast

1 cup whole milk, warmed

1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

For the Filling:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground cardamom

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

For the Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. In a separate bowl, whisk together the warmed milk, melted butter, and eggs. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg until smooth and well-mixed.

Roll Out the Dough: After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the prepared filling evenly over the rolled-out dough.

Form the Rolls: Starting from the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Once rolled, slice the log into 12 equal pieces.

Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish or on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each roll. Cover with a towel and let them rise again for 30-45 minutes, until puffed.

Bake the Rolls: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown.

Make the Glaze: While the rolls cool, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.

Add the Glaze: Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Enjoy! Serve warm with a cup of coffee or tea, and dive into the comforting aroma of cinnamon and cardamom!
