Ingredients

2 large ripe bananas

1 cup dark chocolate chips

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1/4 cup crushed nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, or pecans)

1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)

Sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and cut them into 1-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.

Dip the Banana Slices: Using a fork, dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, coating it completely. Allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl, then place the coated banana back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the crushed nuts and, if using, shredded coconut over the banana slices. Lightly sprinkle with sea salt for a sweet-savory touch.

Freeze: Once all banana slices are coated and topped, place the baking sheet in the freezer. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until the chocolate has completely hardened.

Serve and Enjoy: Once frozen, remove the Banana Bites from the baking sheet and place them in an airtight container. Store in the freezer until ready to enjoy!
