Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, mashed

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring the mixture is well combined after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and stir until mixed.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!

Add Nuts and Chocolate: Fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans and chocolate chips, if using. This adds a delightful crunch and richness to your blondies.

Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few crumbs (not wet batter).

Cool and Serve: Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares. Enjoy your delicious Banana Bread Blondies!
