Ingredients

1 box (12 oz) of vanilla wafers

4 ripe bananas, sliced

2 boxes (3.4 oz each) of instant vanilla pudding mix

4 cups of milk

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter (optional for a twist)

1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Pudding: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it thickens.

Make the Whipped Cream: In another bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Layer the Components: In a 9x13-inch dish, start by adding a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom. You may want to break some wafers to fit perfectly.

Add the Pudding Layer: Spread half of the vanilla pudding mixture over the layer of wafers, smoothing it out evenly.

Banana Layer: Add a layer of sliced bananas on top of the pudding.

Whipped Cream Layer: Spread half of the whipped cream mixture on top of the banana layer.

Repeat Layers: Add another layer of vanilla wafers, the remaining pudding mixture, the rest of the sliced bananas, and then top with the remaining whipped cream.

Optional Peanut Butter Layer: If you’re adding peanut butter, you can mix it into the remaining whipped cream or create a thin layer of peanut butter between the pudding and the bananas.

Chill: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the wafers to soften.

Garnish and Serve: Before serving, sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans on top for added crunch and flavor. Slice and serve chilled for a delightful dessert experience!
