Ingredients

1 cup pecans, chopped

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

Toast the Pecans: In a dry skillet over medium heat, add the chopped pecans. Toast them for about 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.

Make the Sauce Base: In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the brown sugar, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and begins to bubble.

Add Cream and Flavorings: Slowly pour in the heavy cream while continuing to stir. Be careful as it might bubble up. Add the vanilla extract, sea salt, and ground cinnamon (if using). Stir continuously until the sauce is well combined and reaches a gentle boil.

Incorporate Pecans: Add the toasted pecans to the sauce, stirring well to coat them in the buttery mixture. Let the sauce simmer for another 2–3 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

Cool and Serve: Remove from heat and let the sauce cool slightly before serving. It will thicken more as it cools. Drizzle over ice cream, pancakes, or waffles for a decadent treat.

Store: If you have any leftovers, store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Reheat gently before using.
