Ingredients

1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients required on the box: usually eggs, oil, and water)

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup chocolate syrup

1 cup crushed Butterfinger candy bars (about 4 large bars)

1 cup smooth peanut butter

1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup whipped topping or whipped cream

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional, for garnish)

Additional Butterfinger pieces for topping

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper for easy removal.

Prepare the Cake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, buttermilk, chocolate syrup, and the required ingredients as per the cake mix instructions. Beat the mixture on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth and well combined.

Add Butterfinger Crunch: Fold in the crushed Butterfinger candy bars until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Bake the Cakes: Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Prepare the Peanut Butter Filling: In a medium bowl, mix together the peanut butter and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. If desired, add a touch of milk to achieve a spreadable consistency.

Assemble the Cake: Once the cakes have cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread the peanut butter filling evenly on top. Carefully place the second cake layer on top of the first.

Frost the Cake: Spread a generous layer of whipped topping or whipped cream on the top and sides of the cake. You can also create swirls and peaks for a beautiful finish.

Decorate: Sprinkle mini chocolate chips and additional crushed Butterfinger bars over the top of the frosted cake to add texture and flavor.

Chill and Serve: For best results, refrigerate the cake for at least 30 minutes before slicing. This will allow the filling to set a bit. Slice, serve, and enjoy the delightful Butterfinger Bliss Bomb Cake!
