Ingredients

1 package (1 sheet) of puff pastry, thawed

6 large eggs

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup cooked, crumbled bacon (about 6-8 slices)

1/2 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking spray or butter for greasing the muffin tin

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Muffin Tin: Grease a standard muffin tin with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.

Roll Out the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth it out. Cut the sheet into 12 equal squares (approximately 3x3 inches).

Form Cups: Place each square of puff pastry into the greased muffin tin, pressing down gently and allowing the edges to rise slightly above the rim of each cup.

Pre-bake the Pastry: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake the puff pastry cups for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.

Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper until well combined. Stir in the crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and chives (if using).

Fill the Cups: Carefully pour the egg mixture into each puff pastry cup, filling them about three-quarters full to allow for rising.

Bake Again: Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake for an additional 15-18 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the tops are lightly browned.

Cool and Serve: Once done, remove the puff cups from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Carefully remove them from the muffin tin and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious Cheddar Bacon Egg Puff Cups!
