1 lb ground chicken

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 egg, beaten

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Olive oil (for cooking)

Burger buns (for serving)

Lettuce, tomato, and condiments (optional, for serving)

Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, mix the shredded cheddar cheese, finely chopped onion, and parsley (if using). Set aside.

    Make the Patties: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and beaten egg. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

      Form the Patties: Divide the chicken mixture into six equal portions. Take one portion and flatten it into a disc on a clean surface. Place about 2 tablespoons of the cheddar filling in the center, then fold the edges of the chicken mixture over the cheese to completely encase it, forming a patty. Ensure it's sealed well to prevent the cheese from leaking out during cooking. Repeat this process for the remaining portions.

        Cook the Patties: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the patties. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the patties are golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
