8 oz (225g) fresh or dried noodles (preferably egg noodles or spaghetti)

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1-2 tablespoons chili paste (adjust based on spice preference)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Squeeze of lime (optional)

Cook the Noodles: Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the noodles, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water. Set aside.

    Prepare the Garlic Butter: In a large skillet or wok over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

      Add Chili Paste: Stir in the chili paste, ensuring it combines with the garlic butter. Cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Adjust the spice level by adding more chili paste if desired.
