Ingredients

2 cups dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate chips for a sweeter flavor)

1 medium apple (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), thinly sliced

1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans work well)

1/4 cup dried cranberries or raisins

1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional for extra flavor)

Sea salt flakes, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet (about 11x17 inches) with parchment paper, making sure the paper hangs over the edges for easy removal later.

Melt the Chocolate: In a heat-proof bowl, add the chocolate chips. Melt them using a microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler method on the stovetop.

Prepare the Apple Slices: While the chocolate is melting, core and thinly slice the apple. A mandoline slicer can be helpful for uniform slices. Toss the slices in a small bowl with lemon juice to prevent browning.

Assemble the Bark: Once the chocolate is melted, pour it onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread the chocolate into an even layer.

Add Toppings: Before the chocolate sets, arrange the apple slices evenly on top. Sprinkle the chopped nuts and dried cranberries over the apples, ensuring they are distributed well. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon and sea salt flakes across the top for an added flavor burst.

Set the Bark: Allow the chocolate bark to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to harden, or place it in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes if you're in a hurry.

Break into Pieces: Once the bark is set, lift it from the parchment paper and break it into random pieces or cut it into squares with a sharp knife.

Serve & Enjoy!: Store the chocolate apple bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the fridge if you prefer it chilled.
