Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Meatballs: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Shape Meatballs: Use your hands to form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. Arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until cooked through and brown on the outside.

Cook Spaghetti: While meatballs are baking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente (about 9–11 minutes). Reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, basil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, then let cook for about 5 minutes to meld the flavors.

Combine: Once the meatballs are done, gently transfer them into the sauce. Let them simmer together for an additional 3-5 minutes to absorb the sauce flavors.

Mix Pasta and Sauce: Toss the drained spaghetti into the skillet with the sauce and meatballs. If needed, use reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce. Stir well to coat the spaghetti.

Serve: Plate the spaghetti and meatballs, garnishing with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.

Enjoy! Serve hot and enjoy your delicious, quick, and classic spaghetti and meatballs!
