Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)

1 lb ground pork

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian-style)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1/4 cup milk

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 large eggs

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

2 cups marinara sauce

Olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

Prep the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and pork. Add the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, milk, eggs, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Make sure to mix everything gently, but thoroughly, using your hands or a large spoon. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

Form the Meatballs: Once combined, use your hands to form the mixture into evenly sized meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper as you go.

Cook the Meatballs: In a large skillet or frying pan, heat about 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. When the oil is hot, carefully add the meatballs, making sure not to overcrowd the pan (you may need to do this in batches). Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned all over.

Add to Sauce: Once all the meatballs are browned, transfer them to a pot or slow cooker with the marinara sauce. Simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the meatballs to cook through.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the meatballs over spaghetti, in subs, or on their own, garnished with additional chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
