To achieve the perfect texture for your Cheesy Chicken Alfredo Shell Bake, it’s essential to understand the importance of covering and uncovering during the baking process. Initially, you should cover the dish with aluminum foil to trap moisture and heat, allowing the pasta shells to cook evenly and the flavors to meld beautifully. This step helps prevent the top from becoming overly browned while ensuring that the cheese within the shells melts perfectly.

Ingredients

12 large jumbo pasta shells

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded (plus extra for topping)

½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

2 cups Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the filling: In a bowl, combine the cooked chicken, ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.

Fill the shells: Carefully spoon the chicken and cheese mixture into each pasta shell. Make sure to pack them nicely for a generous filling.

Assemble the bake: Spread half of the Alfredo sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Place the filled shells in a single layer over the sauce. Pour the remaining Alfredo sauce evenly over the shells.

Top it off: Sprinkle the reserved mozzarella cheese over the top of the shells to create a cheesy crust.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and serve: Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
