Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Optional: 1 cup broccoli florets (for added nutrition and color)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set it aside.

Sear the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the chicken pieces. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Garlic: In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium, add the minced garlic, and cook for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. If you're adding broccoli, toss it in now and sauté for 3-4 minutes until tender.

Make the Alfredo Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring it to a gentle simmer, then gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

Combine Pasta and Chicken: Add the cooked chicken and fettuccine to the skillet, tossing everything together until evenly coated in the creamy sauce. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper, if needed.

Serve: Remove the skillet from the heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately, and enjoy your delightful one-pan meal!
