8 ounces of pasta (preferably penne or fusilli)

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups broccoli florets

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining, then set the pasta aside.

    Sauté the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Season the diced chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

      Prepare the Broccoli: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender but still bright green.

        Make the Creamy Sauce: Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat slightly, and add the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Let it cook for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

          Combine Everything: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Add the pasta and stir to combine everything thoroughly. If the sauce is too thick, gradually mix in reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

            Add Cheese & Season: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.

              Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with freshly chopped parsley, and serve warm.
