Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves)

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Lemon slices, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Salmon: Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides. Allow them to sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before cooking.

Cook the Salmon: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets, skin-side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Carefully flip the fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes or until they are cooked through to your liking. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.

Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium-low and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Stir in the Cream: Slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisking as you go to combine everything evenly. Add the Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and thyme. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.

Return the Salmon: Gently place the cooked salmon fillets back into the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over the top to coat them. Let them warm in the sauce for 1-2 minutes.

Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle the salmon with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon slices on the side. This dish pairs beautifully with steamed vegetables, rice, or a simple side salad.
