Ingredients

1 cup orzo pasta

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1 cup heavy cream

¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Orzo: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the orzo according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

Add Spinach: Stir in the chopped spinach and cook for 2-3 minutes, just until wilted.

Create Creamy Sauce: Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let it simmer gently for about 2 minutes.

Incorporate Cheese: Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Combine Orzo and Sauce: Add the cooked orzo to the skillet, stirring well to coat it with the creamy garlic sauce. Mix in the lemon juice for a fresh zing.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve immediately. Garnish with chopped parsley for a pop of color and extra flavor.
