Ingredients

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, rinsed and drained

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ teaspoon ground cumin

½ teaspoon sea salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Optional: ¼ teaspoon chili powder for heat

Optional: Fresh herbs (like parsley or rosemary) for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes while you prepare the chickpeas.

Prepare the Chickpeas: In a bowl, combine the drained chickpeas with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, sea salt, black pepper, and chili powder (if using). Toss the chickpeas until they are evenly coated in the oil and spices.

Air-Fry the Chickpeas: Place the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not overcrowded to ensure even cooking.

Cooking Time: Air-fry the chickpeas at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them as cooking times can vary between air fryer models.

Cool Down: Once they have reached a desirable crunch, carefully remove the chickpeas from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.

Serve: Optionally, toss with fresh herbs for a burst of flavor and serve as croutons over salads, soups, or snacks. Enjoy your crunchy, healthy creation!
