Ingredients

2 large pickles (dill variety preferred)

1 cup of cornstarch

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for a kick)

1 tablespoon olive oil

½ teaspoon dried dill weed (for extra flavor)

Instructions

Preheat the Air Fryer: Begin by preheating your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes. This ensures the chips become crispy right from the start.

Prepare the Pickles: Slice the pickles into thin rounds, about 1/4-inch thick. To prevent excess moisture, place the pickle slices on paper towels and gently blot the tops to remove some of the brine. This step helps achieve a crunchier chip.

Make the Coating: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper (if using), and dried dill weed. Mix well to create a uniform coating.

Coat the Pickles: In a separate bowl, toss the pickle slices with olive oil until evenly coated. Then, sprinkle the cornstarch mixture over the pickles and gently toss until all pieces are well coated. Make sure each slice has a light, even layer of the coating.

Arrange in the Air Fryer: Place the coated pickle slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding to ensure maximum crispiness. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Air Fry the Chips: Air fry the pickle slices at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Keep an eye on them, as air fryers can vary in temperature. They should be golden brown and crispy.

Cool and Serve: Once done, carefully remove the chips from the air fryer and let them cool for a couple of minutes, which helps them crisp up even more. Serve immediately, either plain or with your favorite dipping sauce! Enjoy your delightful, crunchy snack!
