Ingredients

For the Brownie Base:

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

For the Peanut Butter Filling:

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping:

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

A sprinkle of sea salt (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin or line it with muffin liners for easy removal.

Prepare the Brownie Base: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips together over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Mix Sugars and Eggs: In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined and slightly frothy.

Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the sugar and egg mixture, stirring until fully incorporated.

Add Dry Ingredients: Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder to the chocolate mixture. Gently fold until just combined; do not overmix.

Fill the Muffin Tin: Spoon the brownie batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.

Make the Peanut Butter Filling: In a separate mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well-mixed.

Add the Filling: Gently drop about a tablespoon of the peanut butter filling into the center of each brownie cup, using a toothpick or knife to swirl it slightly for a marbled effect.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft. A toothpick inserted should come out with moist crumbs.

Cool and Top with Chocolate: Remove the brownie cups from the oven and let them cool in the tin for about 10 minutes. In the meantime, melt the chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cooled brownie cups and sprinkle with sea salt if desired.

Serve: Let the brownie cups cool completely before removing them from the muffin tin. Enjoy warm or at room temperature!
