Ingredients

2 cups brownie mix (plus ingredients as per package instructions)

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups whipped cream (or non-dairy whipped topping)

1/2 cup chocolate syrup

1/2 cup crushed nuts (walnuts or pecans)

1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Fresh berries for garnishing (optional)

Instructions

Bake the Brownies: Preheat your oven according to the brownie mix instructions. Prepare the brownie mix as directed on the package, then pour into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake for the time specified on the package or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.

Prepare the Cream Cheese Layer: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

Fold in Whipped Cream: Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.

Assemble the Cake: Once the brownies are completely cool, cut them into two equal layers. Place one layer at the bottom of a 9x13-inch dish or another serving container. Drizzle half of the chocolate syrup over the brownies.

Spread Cream Cheese Mixture: Evenly spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the first brownie layer. Sprinkle half of the crushed nuts and half of the chocolate chips on top.

Layer Again: Place the second brownie layer on top, drizzle with the remaining chocolate syrup, and carefully spread the remaining cream cheese mixture over it. Finish with the remaining crushed nuts and chocolate chips.

Chill: Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, allowing the flavors to meld and the cake to firm up.

Serve: When ready to serve, garnish with fresh berries if desired. Cut into squares and enjoy your delicious brownie refrigerator cake!
