1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup vegetable oil

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

½ teaspoon ground ginger

¼ teaspoon ground cloves

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Cream cheese frosting (for topping, optional)

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.

      Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt.

        Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps. If using, fold in the chopped nuts at this stage.

          Pour into Pan: Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
