Ingredients

8 oz (225g) spaghetti or fettuccine

1 lb (450g) ground beef

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 bell pepper (red or green), diced

1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

½ cup beef broth

¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the spaghetti or fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, sautéing for about 3-4 minutes until they soften.

Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.

Make the Sauce: Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juices), tomato paste, oregano, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Allow it to bubble for about 10-15 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.

Combine: Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing until well coated in the sauce. If the mixture seems too dry, gradually add reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.

Season: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix in the chopped parsley for a fresh touch.

Serve: Plate the Garlic Beef Pasta hot and sprinkle generously with grated Parmesan cheese. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
