Ingredients

For the beef:

1 lb ground beef

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/4 cup honey

1/3 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite)

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

For assembly:

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 cup diced tomatoes

1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Beef:

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.

      Cook the Beef:

Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.

          Mix in the Sauce:

Once the beef is fully cooked, reduce heat to low. Stir in the honey, barbecue sauce, smoked paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), and season with salt and pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until heated through and well combined.

              Warm the Tortillas:

While the beef is simmering, warm the tortillas in a separate skillet over medium-low heat for about 30 seconds on each side, or until pliable. Alternatively, wrap them in aluminum foil and warm in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.

                  Assemble the Tacos:

On each tortilla, add a generous scoop of the garlic butter honey BBQ beef mixture. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese. Finish with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.

                      Serve:

Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top just before eating.
