1 large head of broccoli, cut into small florets

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon lemon zest

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

4 slices of crusty bread (sourdough or country-style recommended)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

Fresh lemon juice, for drizzling

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    Prepare the Broccoli: In a mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets with melted butter, minced garlic, lemon zest, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Toss until all florets are evenly coated.

      Roast the Broccoli: Spread the broccoli mixture onto a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until tender and slightly crispy at the edges. Stir halfway through cooking for even roasting.

        Prepare the Bread: While the broccoli is roasting, place the slices of crusty bread on another baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crisp, flipping halfway through.
