Ingredients

8 ounces linguine or spaghetti

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

6 tablespoons unsalted butter

5 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 lemon, zested and juiced

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Optional: Cherry tomatoes, halved (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the linguine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

Prepare the Shrimp: While the pasta is cooking, pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper on both sides.

Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant but not browned.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them.

Combine Pasta and Sauce: Once the shrimp are cooked, add the drained pasta directly to the skillet. Toss to combine with the garlic butter sauce. If the pasta seems dry, gradually add reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.

Finish the Dish: Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, and chopped parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve: Plate the pasta and shrimp, garnishing with additional parsley and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. For an extra touch, add halved cherry tomatoes for color and flavor, if desired.

Enjoy: Serve immediately, enjoying every slurp of this delicious garlic butter shrimp pasta!
