Ingredients

4 tilapia fillets (fresh or thawed)

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (or 2 tablespoons dried parsley)

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 tablespoons lemon juice

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with non-stick spray or a little olive oil.

Prepare the Topping: In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute all the dry ingredients.

Combine with Butter and Lemon: In a separate small bowl, mix the melted butter and lemon juice, then pour this mixture into the breadcrumb mixture. Stir until everything is well coated and resembles wet sand.

Arrange the Tilapia: Place the tilapia fillets in the prepared baking dish. If desired, you can season them lightly with a bit of salt and pepper for extra flavor.

Apply the Crust: Evenly distribute the garlic Parmesan breadcrumb mixture over the top of each tilapia fillet, pressing down gently to help it adhere.

Bake the Dish: Transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the tilapia is cooked through (the fish should be opaque and flake easily with a fork) and the topping is golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Once baked, remove the tilapia from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of freshness.
