2 large eggs

1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

12 oz mozzarella cheese (cut into bite-sized cubes)

Vegetable oil (for frying)

Marinara sauce (for dipping, optional)

Prepare the Breading Stations: Set up three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place the flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs until well combined. In the third bowl, mix the Italian-style breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

    Bread the Mozzarella: Take a cube of mozzarella and roll it in the flour, ensuring it's fully coated. Shake off any excess flour. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll the cube in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere the crumbs. Repeat with the remaining mozzarella cubes.

      Heat the Oil: In a large, deep skillet or pot, pour enough vegetable oil to reach a depth of about 2 inches. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the temperature by dropping in a breadcrumb; it should sizzle immediately.

        Fry the Mozzarella Bites: Carefully add the breaded mozzarella cubes to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
