Ingredients

1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/3 cup pure maple syrup (or honey)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (dairy-free if desired), melted

1/4 cup shredded coconut (unsweetened) or chopped nuts for rolling (optional)

Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional for a spicy kick)

Instructions

In a food processor, combine the ripe avocado, unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides as needed to ensure all ingredients are well incorporated.

Once the mixture is smooth, add the melted dark chocolate chips and blend again until fully combined. If you're using cayenne pepper, add it in at this point for a hint of spice.

Transfer the truffle mixture to a bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. This will help the mixture firm up, making it easier to shape.

After chilling, use a small cookie scoop or your hands to form the mixture into bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter.

Roll each truffle in shredded coconut or chopped nuts if desired, ensuring they are completely covered. This adds an extra layer of deliciousness and texture.

Place the rolled truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for another 15-20 minutes to set.

Serve chilled or at room temperature, and enjoy your guilt-free indulgence!
