Ingredients

4 slices of sourdough bread

2 tablespoons of cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2-3 fresh jalapeños, thinly sliced (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons of butter

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Cheese Mix: In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, shredded mozzarella, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper until well combined. Set aside.

Assemble the Sandwiches: Take two slices of sourdough bread and spread a generous layer of the cheese mixture on each slice. Top one half with the sliced jalapeños, adding more or less according to your spice preference. Place the other slice of bread on top to complete the sandwich.

Butter the Bread: Spread one tablespoon of butter on the outside of each sandwich, making sure to cover it evenly for a nice golden crust.

Heat the Pan: In a skillet over medium heat, place the sandwiches butter-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes or until the bread is golden brown.

Flip and Grill: Carefully flip the sandwiches and add the remaining butter to the skillet. Cook the other side for another 4-5 minutes until it’s crispy and the cheese has melted beautifully.

Serve and Enjoy: Once both sides are golden and crispy, remove the sandwiches from the skillet. Allow them to cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve hot. Enjoy the gooey deliciousness of Jalapeño Popper Grilled Cheese!
