Ingredients

1.5 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

6 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)

Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts and chopped bacon. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and toss until everything is evenly coated.

Bake the Mixture: Spread the Brussels sprouts and bacon mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the Brussels sprouts are tender and caramelized, and the bacon is crispy. Be sure to stir halfway through for even cooking.

Add Garlic and Maple Syrup: In the last 5 minutes of baking, remove the pan from the oven. Sprinkle the minced garlic over the Brussels sprouts and drizzle the maple syrup on top. Toss everything together to combine, then return to the oven to finish cooking.

Optional Pecans: If using pecans, add them to the baking sheet during the last 5 minutes of cooking for a toasty flavor.

Finishing Touches: Once the Brussels sprouts and bacon are caramelized, remove them from the oven, and if desired, add a splash of balsamic vinegar for a tangy finish.

Serve: Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
