Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

Zest of 1 lemon

Zest of 1 lime

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon and lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This step is important to ensure they sear properly in the pan.

Mix the Marinade: In a large bowl, combine the minced garlic, lemon zest, lime zest, lemon juice, lime juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to create a flavorful marinade.

Marinate the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the bowl, tossing them well in the marinade to coat. Let them marinate for about 15-20 minutes at room temperature. This allows the shrimp to soak up the citrus and garlic flavors.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Ensure the oil is hot before adding the shrimp for a nice sear.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the marinated shrimp to the skillet in a single layer, cooking for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and opaque. Avoid overcrowding the pan; cook in batches if necessary. Flip the shrimp and cook for another 1-2 minutes until just cooked through.

Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the heat and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon and lime wedges on the side for an extra citrus kick.
