Ingredients

1 pre-made pie crust (9-inch)

6 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (freshly grated if possible)

1 cup grated Gruyère cheese (or Swiss cheese)

1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 6 slices)

1/2 cup finely chopped onion

2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Pie Crust: Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Press it gently into the dish and trim any excess hanging over the edges. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling.

Sauté the Onions: In a small skillet over medium heat, add the finely chopped onion. Sauté until the onions are translucent and lightly caramelized (about 5-7 minutes). Set aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, whole milk, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.

Layer the Ingredients: Evenly distribute the sautéed onions, crumbled bacon, and grated Gruyère cheese on the bottom of the pie crust.

Pour the Egg Mixture: Carefully pour the egg mixture over the bacon, onion, and cheese, ensuring all ingredients are covered.

Bake the Quiche: Place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the quiche cool for about 10-15 minutes. This will make it easier to slice. If desired, sprinkle chopped fresh chives on top for added flavor and garnish.

Enjoy: Slice the Quiche Lorraine Delight into wedges and serve warm or at room temperature. Perfect for brunch or a light dinner!
