1 lb (450g) ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon chili powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

For the Fresh Avocado Salsa:

2 ripe avocados, diced

1 medium tomato, diced

1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped

1 jalapeño, seeds removed and finely chopped (optional)

Juice of 1 lime

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Salt, to taste

Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

    Season the Beef: Once the beef is fully cooked, stir in the cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld together. Remove from heat.

      Prepare the Fresh Avocado Salsa: In a medium bowl, combine the diced avocados, tomato, red onion, jalapeño (if using), lime juice, and cilantro. Gently toss to combine, being careful not to mash the avocados. Season with salt to taste.

        Warm the Tortillas: In a separate dry skillet or on a grill, warm the tortillas over medium-low heat for about 30 seconds on each side or until pliable.
