Ingredients

1 cup granulated sugar

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon sea salt (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Assorted dippables (apple slices, pretzels, brownies, marshmallows, strawberries, etc.)

Instructions

Begin the Caramel: In a medium, heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat the granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir constantly with a heat-resistant spatula or wooden spoon until the sugar melts and turns a deep amber color. Be careful not to burn it!

Add Butter: Once the sugar is melted, carefully add the butter to the saucepan. The mixture will bubble up, so stand back. Stir until the butter is completely melted and incorporated.

Incorporate Cream: Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. The mixture will bubble again, but keep stirring until smooth and creamy.

Season the Caramel: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the sea salt and vanilla extract. Taste the caramel and adjust the salt if needed. If it's too sweet for your preference, a bit more salt will help balance it out!

Transfer to Fondue Pot: Pour the warm salted caramel into a fondue pot (or a heatproof bowl) and keep it warm over a low flame or candle if you have a fondue setup.

Serve with Dippers: Arrange your assorted dippables on a platter around the fondue bowl. Encourage guests to spear their favorites and dip into the luscious caramel for a delightful experience!

Enjoy! Gather your friends and family and indulge in this sweet treat, savoring every delicious dip.
