1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

6 oz thinly sliced cooked ham

6 oz Swiss cheese, sliced

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

    Prep the Puff Pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the sheet of puff pastry to smoothen any creases. Cut the pastry into 2-inch squares or rectangles, depending on your preferred shape. You should get about 12-15 pieces.

      Assemble the Fillings: Place a small amount (about a teaspoon) of Dijon mustard in the center of each pastry square. Layer with a slice of ham, followed by a slice of Swiss cheese. Optional: add a pinch of garlic powder and oregano on top for extra flavor.

        Seal the Bites: Fold the corners of the pastry squares toward the center, pinching them together to form a sealed pocket. Make sure the filling is well enclosed to prevent leakage during baking.

          Create the Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg. Brush the tops of each puff pastry bite with the egg wash for a golden-brown finish.

            Bake: Place the assembled pastry bites on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are puffed and golden brown.
