Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

5 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for some heat)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Rinse and pat dry the shrimp. Trim and cut the asparagus. Mince the garlic and chop the parsley.

Cook the Asparagus: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the asparagus and sauté for about 4-5 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Season with salt and pepper. Remove the asparagus from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant (be careful not to burn it).

Add the Shrimp: Quickly add the shrimp to the skillet. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

Combine: Add the sautéed asparagus back to the skillet, along with the lemon juice. Stir everything together until well combined and heated through.

Serve: Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
