Ingredients

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

1 ¼ cups whole milk

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon cream of tartar

For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin or line it with paper liners.

Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and cream of tartar. Whisk until thoroughly mixed.

Prepare the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Gently fold the mixture together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Fill the Muffin Tins: Evenly distribute the batter into the muffin tin, filling each cavity about ¾ full.

Make the Cinnamon Sugar Topping: In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the topping. Brush the tops of the muffins with melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture generously over them.

Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.

Cool and Serve: Remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy them warm or at room temperature!
