Ingredients

2 lbs chicken wings, split at the joint

1/4 cup soy sauce (preferably low-sodium)

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 tablespoons sesame oil

4 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (for thickening)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Prep the Wings: Start by patting your chicken wings dry with paper towels. This will help them get crispy when cooked. Season with salt and pepper.

Make the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger until well combined.

Marinate the Wings: Place the chicken wings in a large resealable plastic bag or a bowl. Pour the marinade over the wings, making sure they are evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the bowl and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and place a wire rack on top for better airflow and crispiness.

Arrange the Wings: Remove the wings from the marinade (do not discard the marinade) and place them on the wire rack in a single layer. This helps them cook evenly.

Bake the Wings: Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Thicken the Sauce: While the wings are baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat and add the cornstarch mixture. Stir until the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency.

Glaze the Wings: Once the wings are cooked, remove them from the oven and toss them in the thickened honey-soy sauce until well-coated.

Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the wings with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for added flavor and presentation. Serve hot and enjoy!
