Ingredients

For the Cake:

1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix

3 large eggs

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

    Prepare the Cake Batter:

      - In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, eggs, sour cream, and vegetable oil. Blend with an electric mixer on low speed until just combined, then increase to medium speed for about 2 minutes until the batter is smooth and creamy.

        Make the Strawberry Swirl:

          - In a separate bowl, mix the chopped strawberries with the brown sugar and cinnamon. Let sit for about 5 minutes to macerate, allowing the strawberries to release some juices.

            Layer the Cake:

              - Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking pan. Spread evenly across the bottom.

                - Next, add the strawberry mixture in dollops over the batter. Using a knife, gently swirl the strawberries into the cake batter—do not completely mix it in.

                  Add the Remaining Batter:

                    - Pour the remaining cake batter over the strawberry swirl. Use a rubber spatula to spread it evenly without disturbing the strawberry layer too much.

                      Bake:

                        - Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

                          Prepare the Glaze:

                            - While the cake is baking, in a small bowl, combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth. Adjust the thickness by adding more milk or powdered sugar if necessary.

                              Cool and Glaze:

                                - Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, drizzle the glaze over the warm cake, allowing it to soak in slightly.

                                  Serve:

                                    - Allow the cake to cool completely before serving. Slice into squares and enjoy the luscious strawberry flavor combined with the sweet honeybun glaze!
