Ingredients

For the Crust:

2 cups crushed pretzels

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Cream Cheese Layer:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

8 oz whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed

For the Strawberry Layer:

2 cups fresh strawberries, quartered

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 cup boiling water

1 (3 oz) package strawberry gelatin mix

1 cup cold water

Instructions

Prepare the Crust:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

      - In a mixing bowl, combine crushed pretzels, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until the pretzels are well coated.

        - Press the pretzel mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.

          - Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

            Make the Cream Cheese Layer:

              - In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth.

                - Gradually add powdered sugar, continuing to beat until well combined.

                  - Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated.

                    - Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust, covering it evenly.

                      Prepare the Strawberry Layer:

                        - In another bowl, combine the quartered strawberries with granulated sugar. Let them sit for about 10-15 minutes to release their juices.

                          - In a saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Remove from heat and whisk in the strawberry gelatin mix until dissolved.

                            - Add the cold water to the gelatin mixture. Stir until combined.

                              - Pour the gelatin mixture over the sweetened strawberries and gently stir to coat them.

                                Assemble the Salad:

                                  - Carefully spoon the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer, spreading it out evenly.

                                    - Refrigerate the salad for at least 3-4 hours, or until the gelatin is fully set.

                                      Serve:

                                        - Once set, slice into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy the delightful blend of salty, sweet, and fruity flavors!
